The 61-year-old American actor was born on August 31, 1949 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Doris Ann and George Gere, a homemaker and insurance agent. Richard Gere is the eldest their eldest and second child. He graduated from the North Syracuse Central High School in 1967, where he did well in gymnastics and in music by playing the instrument of trumpet. In his personal life, Richard Gere married the supermodel Cindy Crawford in year 1991 but their marriage lasts until 1995. He then tied the knot to the model and actress Carey Lowell, whom he had a son named, homer James Jigme Gere, who was born in 2000 and was name after Gere’s beloved father. He is an active supporter of the Survival International, which is an organization committed in the protection of the as well as lands of the tribal folks all through the world.
