Singer Whitney Houston who passed away recently, is soon to be immortalized on screen in the form of her biopic. The grapevine is already buzzing with news as to who will star in the movie chronicling the legendary singer’s life. As Per sources just before Whitney passed away, the pop icon was ready to tell her life through biopic. According to AOL Music, Actress Meagan Good (30) was in contention for the role and is said to have been in talks with Whitney Houston. The actress even had a meeting scheduled for this month to discuss the project; however, with the pop icon’s premature death on February 11, the film never left the planning stage.

With the project revived again, according to reports, some of Hollywood’s top female artists are said to be in the running to bad this project. However, a new front-runner appears to be emerging, barely a few days after Whitney’s funeral. It is none other thatn singer/actress Rihanna. After her role in Battleship, Rihanna is said to be on the shortlist of actress who is in mind to portray the late legend, Whitney Houston. Rihanna, 24, was spotted leaving her London hotel the afternoon of February 26 wearing a jumper with the face of the late Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra on it. The Blonde haired star stepped out wearing the screen icon on her top and teamed the outfit with a pair of funky sunglasses and large gold necklace. She also wore long black dress which featured a small split which she wore with a pair of black and beige coloured heels.

Clive Davis, Whitney’s record label chief and close pal is heading the project. Reportedly he wants the script finalized as early as possible, so that the shooting can commence immediately. Along with 24-year old Rihanna in the running for the main lead in the biopic are other actresses. Actress Vivica Fox, 47, and American Idol singer Jordin Sparks, 22, are also being considered for the movie and Will Smith’s 11-year-old daughter Willow is thought to be portraying the actress as a child.

Although movie executives are hoping Rihanna will sign up for the film, the Talk that Talk singer already turned down the chance to remake Houston’s The Bodyguard last year. Rihanna has been quoted in OK! Magazine as saying that she hates it when singers do singing movies all the time, because you can never look at them as anybody else. She said that she wants to play a character noting that her whole life is playing Rihanna; being a singer won’t be a stretch for her.

The superstar’s life story had been discussed before her death and the singer was excited about the project. A source told People newspaper that Whitney knew about the project and was excited to see where it would lead. It is hoped that the biopic will be as successful as Tina Turner movie What’s Love Got To Do With IT, which landed two Oscar nominations for Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne who played Tina and Ike Turner.

The R&B recording artist, Robyn Rihanna Fenty or better known as Rihanna alone says she resented Chris Brown for a time but has moved on and put things behind saying she is happy that her former boyfriend has found success in music again.  The former couple were reportedly tweeting each other over the summer following the modification and reduction of Brown’s restraining order to level one from her ex-girlfriend.  That way Chris brown can contact and be in the vicinity of Rihanna except that he must not annoy or harass her.

In an interview with Esquire Magazine where she appears in the cover, Rihanna said that disliking Brown “was taking up too much of my time” and that she has moved on from that.  “It was too much anger,” the 23-year-old said. “I’m really excited to see the breakthrough he’s had in his career.”  “It’s incredible to see how he pulled out the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know?” Rihanna said. “I really like the music he’s putting out. I’m a fan of his stuff. I’ve always been a fan.”

The 21-year-old R&B singer, Chris Brown, was ordered to serve five years of probation and six months of community service after pleading guilty to felony assault for the attack on Rihanna in the early morning hours before the 2009 Grammys.  Brown’s career stalled following the incident when it received immense media attention which negatively his singing and all-around entertainer career.  While his album ‘Grafitti’ did not gain much success, his latest release, “F.A.M.E. (Forgiving All My Enemies),” debuted number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart in March.  The album reached gold status and has multiple hit singles like ‘Look at Me Now,’ ‘Deuces,’ and ‘Yeah 3x’ among other tracks.

Rihanna did well in the music industry as well following her debut in 2005.  SOS, Umbrella, Take a Vow, DIsturbia, Don’t Stop the Music and What’s My Name are some of the chart-topping singles of the singer.  Rihanna has sold more than 20 million albums and 60 million singles[5] which makes her one of the best selling artists of all time. Billboard named Rihanna the Digital Songs Artist of the 2000s decade,[9] and ranked her as the 17th Artist of the 2000s decade.  She also received a number of award and recognition.  Her albums “Rated R” and “Loud” have both gone Platinum and she will be releasing her new album “Talk That Talk” this November with its lead single ‘We Found Love’ which hit the top 10 on Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Named as Esquire Magazine’s Sexiest Woman Alive for 2011, the Barbadian pop princess said she want to see Chris Brown do well.  “I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. The 23-year old pop recording artist was born on February 20, 1988 in St. Michael, Barbados to Monica and Ronald Fenty, an accountant and a warehouse supervisor, respectively. She was baptized with the name Robyn Rihanna Fenty. In addition, she is the eldest of three siblings. Her two young brothers are Rorrey and Rajad Fenty.

Her passion in singing began when she was around the age of seven. As a matter of fact, she even joined a musical trio with two of her classmates at the age of 15. It was a year after her parents divorced because of his father’s addiction to crack cocaine. In the year 2003, a friend introduced Rihanna and her two band mates to record producer Evan Rogers, who was then vacationing in Barbados with his wife.

In an interview with Rogers, he told the press that the moment Rihanna walked into the room, it was like the two other girls do not exist. Rihanna’s success even boosted with album after another. She has also earned a series of nominations and awards, including her first Grammy awards in 2008. Along with her success, reports later surfaced regarding an alleged altercation with then boyfriend-singer Chris Brown, who was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats to the pop singer. On June 22, 2009, Brown pled guilty to the felony assault and was ordered to stay fifty yards away from Rihanna.
