Rosamund Pike is an English actress, who is most notable for the portrayal of Miranda Frost in the film of Die Another Day. Pike was born Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike on January 27, 1979 in London, England to Caroline and Julian Pike, who were both musicians and opera singers. However, her father is now a professor at the Birmingham Conservatoire. Her family toured across the Europe until she reached the age of seven, boarding wherever her parents’ career took tem to. As a result, Pike can speak fluently in French and German as well. In addition, Pike earned a scholarship to the Badminton School and was she is appearing in a production of the well known Romeo and Juliet at the National Youth Theater, Pike was notice was noticed by an agent, who helped her made her professional career.
On the other hand, Pike applied in several stage schools, unfortunately she was being turned down by them. However, she earned a spot to read the English Literature at the Wadham College, Oxford. When she was still at Oxford, Pike had a relationship with his fellow English actor Simon Woods, with who she later starred in the film entitled, Pride & Prejudice. While she considered working at the Waterstone’s bookshop because of lack of acting opportunities, Pike was offered to portray the role as a Bond Girl and MI6 agent to help James Bond in the action film called, Die another Day. During the release of the said film, Pike has also appeared in the show of Bond Girls Are Forever and in the BAFTA tribute to the James Bond Series.
On the other hand, Pike also appeared in some British TV shows like in A Rather English Marriage in year 1998 as well in the miniseries of Wives and Daughters. In addition, Pike also appeared in the serial drama series of Love in Cold Climate in year 2001. Pike portrayed the female lead role of Elizabeth Malet in the 2004 film entitled, The Libertine, together with Jonny Depp. The film garnered her award for the Best Supporting Actress at the British Independent Film Awards. On the same she appeared as Rose in the film of The Promise Land. She then starred in the cinematic adaptation of the computer game called, Doom. Pike subsequently portrayed the role of Jane in Pride and Prejudice.
Pike was also included in the casts of the film adaptation of the book of Fugitive Pieces, where she starred together with the stars of Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling. In addition, Pike also appeared in the British film of Made in Dagenham, where she portrayed the role of Lisa, together with Sally Hawkins and Daniel Mays. In year 2010 Pike appeared in a production of Hedda Gabler on UK Tour. She also recorded voicework for a lead role in the film entitled, Jackboots on Whitehall and also voiced to a new series of James Bond audio-books, narrating The Spy Who Loved Me.
