Ryan Phillippe was born on September 10, 1974 in New Castle, Delaware. He was one of the four children of Susan and Richard Phillippe, who manages a day care center and a DuPont worker. He entered the New Castle Baptist Academy, where he played the sports of basketball and soccer as well as Tae Kwon Do, where he received a black belt. When he was on his senior year, Phillippe was the Yearbook editor of their school.
His acting career started when he made an appearance on the Daytime drama of the ABC network called, One Life to Live, where he portrayed the role of Billy Douglas from year 1992 up o year 1993. In addition, it was said that Phillippe was the first teenager actor on a daytime soap opera. He moved to Los Angeles after leaving the said show and then appeared in some of the TV series, which also includes Matlock and in the mini-series of The Secrets of Lake Success. He was also appeared in the movies of Crimson Tide in year 1995 and in film White Squall on the following year.
On the other hand, he was included on the casts of the horror film entitled, I Know What You Did Last Summer, in year 1997. The said film earned success and brings such fame to Phillippe. He was also appeared in some of the high-profile movies like the 2998 film of 54. Also, he starred in the 1999 film of Cruel Intentions.
In year 2002, Ryan Phillippe earned a supporting role in the film called, Igby Goes Down and Crash in year 2005, which garnered an Oscar Award for Best Picture. On the other hand, his 2003 film of The Inside was premiered on cable. Phillippe portrayed the role of the real-life Navy Corpsman, John Bradley in the war movie of Flags of Our Fathers, which has been directed by Clint Eastwood. He also portrayed the rare comedic role of Lt. Dixon Piper in the unsuccessful movie called, MacGruber, which was initially based on the SNL skit of the same name. The film was released across the US and Canada on May 21, 2010.
In the summer of 2010, he started filming in the adaptation film of the well known crime novel of The Lincoln, together with the stars of Matthew McConaughey and Marisa Tomei as well as William H. Macy, which hit the big screen on March 2011. He next appeared in the action film of Set Up, which also starred the Bruce Willis and Jenna Dewan as well as 50 cent. It was said that the film is set to have a theatrical release this year. On the other hand, Phillippe is set to appear on the upcoming film entitled, Chronicles, which will be directing by Jay Alaimo. Phillippe will be joining by the stars of Justin Long and John Hawkes.
