Sam Elliott is an American actor, who already appeared in several films. Elliott was born on August 9, 1944 in Sacramento, California. His mother was a physical training instructor while his father is a Department of the Interior worker. During his teenage years, Elliott together with his family relocated from California to Oregon, where he attended and graduated from the David Douglas High School in Portland. He also entered the Clark College, which is located in Vancouver, Washington, where he took a two-year program and was also included in the ensemble of Guys and Dolls. After a newspaper affirmed that Elliott should be a professional actor, he eventually announced that e will be heading on to Hollywood for him to become a renowned star. In addition, Elliott became one of the members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at the Cal State L.A. also, Elliott worked in a construction while he was still studying acting in Los Angeles.
On the other hand, Elliott started his professional acting career as a character actor. in year 1969, he made one of his first film appearances, when he was included in the casts of the Western film entitled, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. In year 1970 until 1971, Elliott portrayed the role of Soug Robert in the TV series called, Mission: Impissble as well as in the miniseries of NBC entitled, Once an Eagle, where he portrayed the role of Sam Damon. He was also included in the casts if the TV miniseries of The Sacketts, which also starred Tom Selleck, Ben Johnson and Slim Pickens. Elliott also appeared as a guest star in the crime drama called, Felony Squad as well as in Gunsmoke and Lancer. In year 1989, Elliott starred in the film entitled, Red House, which also includes the stars of Patrick Swayze and Kelly Lynch.
Moreover, in year 1993, Elliott also starred together with Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer in the Western film of Tombstone and in year 1998, Elliott was announced as the grand marshal of the Calgary Stampede parade. In year 1993, Elliott portrayed the role of Lieutenant Colonel John Buford in the MAerican war film of Gettysburg. He also co starred in the 2002 film of We Were Soldiers, which also includes the stars of Mel Gibson and Madeleine Stowe as well as Greg Kinnear and Chris Klein. In year 2005, Elliott appeared in the film entitled, Thank You for Smoking, where he portrayed the role of Lorne Lutch.
In year 2009, Elliott had a small role in the comedy drama film of Uop in the Air, where he portrayed the role of Maynard Finch, together with George Clooney and Vera Farmiga. On the following year, he was included in the casts of the film called, Mamaduke, where he voiced for the role of Buster. In year 2011, he was included in the thriller film of The Big Bang, where he portrayed the role of Simon Kestral.
