Sarah Polley is an Canadian singer-actress, who is most notable for the portrayal of Sara Stanley in the Canadian TV series of Road Avonlea. She was born on January 8, 1979 in Toronto, Ontario, to Diane Elizabeth and Michael Polley, an actress and a actor. Polley was the youngest of five children. In addition, Polley entered the Subway Academy III. he also attended the Earl Haig Secondary School. At the young age of four, Polley made her cinematic appearance, portraying the role of Molly in the Disney film called, One Magic Christmas. At the age of eight, Polley went on to portray the role of Ramona Quimby in the TV series of Ramona, which was initially based in the novel of Beverly Cleary.
On the other hand, Polley also portrayed the lead roles in Tery Gilliam’s The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. She then earned fame when she portrayed the role of Sara Stanley in the well known CBS TV series called, Road Avoniea. However, the show was ailed up by the Disney Channel. Moreover, Polley portrayed the role of Lily in the CBS TV series called, Straight Up. The said series aired from the year 1996 up to year 1998. Also, the series garnered her Gemini Award for the Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series. She then appeared in the 1998 film of The Sweet Hereafter, where she portrayed the role of Nicole Burnell.
Polley Subsequently appeared in two films, the 1998 Canadian drama film of Last Night and the 1999 film entitled, Go, where she portrayed the role of Ronna Martin. The film also starred Katie Holmes. In year 2000, Polley was included in the casts of the film called, Almost Famous, where she portrayed the role of Penny Lane. However, she was dropped out of the film to return for the film of The Law Enclosure. On the other hand, Polley appeared in the 2003 film entitled, My Life Without Me, where she portrayed the lead role of Ann. The film also includes the stars of Scott Speedman and Mark Ruffalo. On the following year, Polley received a Genie Award for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. On the same year, she appeared in the remake film of Dawn of the Dead. Also, in year 2005, Polley portrayed the lead role of Hannah in the Spanish film of The Secret Life of Words, which also starred Tim Robbins and Julie Christie. The film garnered her nomination for the Best European Actress by the European Film Academy. She then portrayed the role of Elise in the 2010 film of Mr. Nobody. The film also includes the stars of Jared Leto and Diane Kruger as well as Linh Dan Pham.
