Scott Caan is an America actor, who is most notable for the portrayal in the TV series of Hawaii Five-0. He was born on August 23, 1976 in Los Angeles, California, to James Caan and Shiela Ryan, an actor and actress. His parents separated a year after he was born. Caan has four-half siblings from the other marriages of his father. On addition, Caan was baptized with the real name of Scott Andrew Caan. On the other hand, his paternal grandparents were both Jewish immigrants from Germany. Moreover, Caan was a road crew for the rap groups of Cypress Hill and the House of Pain. He was also became one of the members of the hip-hop group called, The Whoooliganz.
After Caan entered the Playhouse West acting school in Los Angeles, he started on acting in year 1990s, appearing in several independent films as well in some low budgeted films. On the other hand, his first role on major motion picture was in the 1999 drama film called, Varsity Blues, where he portrayed the role of Charlie Tweeder. Also, on the same year, he portrayed the role of Drew on the film Saturn, which is also known as the Speed of Life. He then appeared in numerous studio films like the 2000 comedy film entitled, Ready to Rumble, which also starred David Arquette. Also, in year 2000, he appeared together with Vin Diesel in the film entitled, Boiler Room.
On the following year, Caan portrayed the lead role of Cole Younger in the Western film of American Outlaw, which also starred Colin Farrell and Ali Larter. On the other hand, in year 2003, Caan had his directorial debut with the film entitled, Dallas 362, which was garnered an award at the 2003 Las Vegas Film Festival. In addition, Caan also appeared in the film trilogy Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve as well as in Ocean’s Thirteen. In year 2005, he starred together with Paul Walker in the action film called, Into the Blue. Moreover, he wrote and directed the comedy film of Te Dog Problem, where he also portrayed a supporting role as well.
Nevertheless, Caan also appears in the TV series of Entourage, portraying a recurring role of Scott Lavin since the season 6 up to the season 8 of the said series. Caan then portrayed the role of Detective Danny “Danny” Williams in the remake of Hawaii Five-O. The series premiered on September 2010. In year 2011, Caan earned a nomination for a Golden Globe Award for the Best Supporting Actor-Series, Miniseries or Television Film for his portrayal on the said show. On the other hand, Hawaii Five-O also includes the stars of Alex O’Loughlin and Daniel Dae Kim as well as Grace Park.
