Sela Ward is an American actress, who is most notable for the portrayal of Teddy in the TV series of Sisters and Lily Manning on Once and Again. She was born on July 11, 1956 in Meridian, Mississippi, to Annie Kate and Grandberyy Holland Ward Jr, a housewife and an electrical engineer. She was baptized with the real name of Sela Ann Ward and has a younger sister named Jenna and two brothers named Brock and Granberry. In addition, Ward entered the University of Alabama, where she became one of the Crimson Tide Cheerleaders and a homecoming queen. She also became one of the members of the Chi Omega sorority and took double-majored in art and advertising. While she was still in New York City, working as a storyboard artist fit multimedia presentation. Having the height og 170 cm, Ward started on modeling to provide her own income. She was then absorbed by the Wilhelmina agency and will soon appear in TV commercials endorsing the Maybelline cosmetics.
She then relocated to California to continue her professional acting career on acting. She subsequently had her first film role in the Burt Reynolds vehicle, The Man Who Loved Women, which was released in year 1983. On the other hand, her first regular role was in the TV series of Emeran Point N.A.S. Ward also appeared in the comedy drama film of Nothing in Common, where she portrayed the role of Cheryl Ann Wayne. Ward earned one of the lead roles in the TV series called, Sisters, which earned her very first Emmy award for in the category for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series in year 1994. She also received a CableACE Award for her portrayal in the role of Jessica Savitch in the TV film called, Almost Golden: The Jessica Savitch Story in year 1995.
On the other hand, Ward also appeared in the sitcom of Frasier, where ahe portrayed the role of Kelly Easterbrook. In year 2004, she portrayed the role of Bobbi Bacha in the TV film of called, Suburban Madness. On the same year, Ward appeared in the film entitled, The Day After Tomorrow, where she portrayed the role of Dr. Lucy Hall, together with the stars of Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal as well as Emmy Rossum and Ian Holm. In year 2005, she started to portray her recurring role in the drama series called, House. She also appeared as Helen Randall in the 2006 film of The Guardian. In year 2009, she portrayed the role of Susan Harding in the film of The Stepfather, which also starred Dylan Walsh and Penn Badgley. On the other hand, she currently appears in the TV series of CSI: NY, where she portrays the role of Jo Danville.
