Shannen Doherty is an actress,producer and an TV director, who s most notable for the role of Heather Duke in the 1989 black comedy film entitled, Heathers. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, US, on April 12, 1971. Her mother is Rosa, who owns a beauty parlor, and his father is Tom Doherty, who is a mortgage consultant. She was baptized with the real name of Shannen Maria Doherty and has an Irish ancestry. At the young age of seven, Doherty together with her family, relocated to Los Angeles and eventually affirmed that she wanted to an actress. She made her acting debut at the tender age of ten, when she had a role in the TV series in year 1981 called, Father Murphy. Doherty was best described as a confident and active student, performing school and always makes sure that she will have excellent grades. On the other hand, at the young age of eleven, Doherty turned herself as a star, appearing on the series show of Little House on the Prairie. Doherty appeared on the said series until it was cancelled in year 1983. She then collaborated with the film director, Alan Metter in the 1985 dance film called, Girls Jut Want to Have Fun, which starred Sara Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt.
At the age of 19, Doherty’s big break occurred, being included in the casts of Aaron Spelling’s hit TV series of Beverly Hills, 90210, in year 1990, where she portrayed the role of Brenda Walsh. However, Doherty left the show in year 1994. After he appearance on the said series, Doherty continuously appears in various projects, including the 1994 thriller film called, Almost Dead, where she portrayed the role of Doctor Katherine Roshlak. Because of her talent when it comes to acting, Doherty subsequently appeared in the 1995 film of Mallrats, which has been directed by Kevin Smith. In year 1998, the film producer, Aaron Spelling, cast her in the TV series called, Charmed, which revolves around the lives of three ordinary women who happens to be witches. She portrayed the role of Prue Halliwell, together with the stars of Alyssa Milano and Holly Mare Combs. However, Doherty also left the show to work on big screen. On the other hand, her portrayal on the TV series of Charmed, brought her nominations for the Saturn Award for the Best genre TV Actress.
She then starred as Alexandra Hudson from year 2004 until 2005 in the TV series called, North Shore. Also, In year 2005, she was included in the casts of the sitcom called, Love, Inc., however, it was said that Doherty left the show before it initially aired. On the following year, Doherty produced and also starred on her own reality show which has been called as Breaking Up With Shannen Doherty. Nevertheless, the show was pulled out of air because of its low ratings. In year 2007, Doherty appeared in the pilot called, Kiss Me Deadly: A Jacob Keane Assignment as well as the film entitled, Christmas Caper, where she portrayed the lead role of Kate Dove. On the same year, Doherty landed on the 96th spot of the Entertainment Weekly’s 100 Greatest Television Icons list. She then reprised the role of Brenda Walsh in the 2008 spin off for the CW network of Beverly Hills, 90210. On the same year, she appeared in the science fiction film of The Lost Treasure of the Grand Canyon, where she portrayed the role of Susan Jordan, alongside Michael Shanks. She then teamed up with the film director Christopher B. Landon in the satirical film called, Burning Palms, which also starred Zoe Saldana and Jamie Chung.
