Shawnee Smith is an American actress, who is most notable for the portrayal of Amanda Young in the Saw films as well as Linda in the series show of Becker. She was born on July 3, 1970 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, to Patricia and Jim Smith, an oncology nurse and a former US Air Force pilot. Smith together with her family moved from South Carolina to Ban Nuys, California, when she was only one year old. When she reached two, her parents got divorced and her mother married again when she was t the young age of eight. In addition, Smith entered the Ranchito Avenue Elementary School in Panorama City, California and the North Hollywood High School in North Hollywood California.
On the other hand, Smith started her professional acting career by appearing on stage in a production called, A Christmas Carol, and starred in a play, together with Richard Dreyfuss at the young age of fifteen. Smith has also performed in the original production of To Gillian on her 37th Birthday and earned the Dramalogie Critics Award for her portrayal. In year 1985, Smith starred in Not My Kid and in the 1987 comedy film of Summer School, where she portrayed the role of Rhonda Altobello. After she took a break for three years, Smith climbed the Mt, Kilimanjaro and get involved in triathlon. In addition, Smith’s most known TV role was in the comedy series of Becker, where she portrayed the role of Linda.

She also appeared in The X-Files and in Players as well as in Law & order: Los Angeles. In year 2003, she voiced for a role in the Disney cartoon of Kim Possible. She has also been considered as a Scream Queen, for appearing in various horror films. In year 2006, she had an appearance in the short film of Repo: The Genetic Opera, where she portrayed the role of Heather Sweet. In year 2008, she portrayed the role of Detective Gina Harcourt in the series of 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust. On the following year, she appeare in the third instalment of The Grudge Series called, The Grudge 3. On the other hand, Smith also appeared in the ABC show of The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
