Steven Victor Tallarico, or professionally known as Steven Tyler was born on March 26, 1948 in Yonkers, New York. His parents were Susan and Victor Tallarico. He was a singer-songwriter and the front man of the famous rock band Aerosmith. Tyler was regarded as the “Demon of Screamin” because of his wild screams and vocal range. According to Tyler, his passion for music started because of his father.
Tyler was linked to a fashion model named Bebe Buell. In 1978, he married Cyrinda Foxe who was the former wife of David Johansen. The relationship ended in year 1987 when Tyler and Foxe divorced.The current partner of Tyler is Erin Brady since year 2006.
The first band which was formed by Tyler was named “The Strangeurs” when he was only sixteen years old. He was the drummer in the band and later on became the lead singer. Before he became the lead singer of Aerosmith, he became also a part of local bands like William Proud and The Left Banke.
Tyler becomes involved in drug cases which lead to his expulsion from Roosevelt High School.
In year 1969, the singing career of Tyler started when he attended a rock show in Sunapee, New Hampshire where he met Joe Perry and Tom Hamilton who is performing as a band called “Jam Band.” Tyler, Perry and Hamilton decided to form a band. Joey Kramer and Ra Tabano were added in the group later on. However, Tabano was replaced by Brad Whitford in year 1971. The band first signed in Columbia Records in 1971 and they released their debut album in year 1973. The song “Dream on” became a hit in 1973 which peaked at 59th spot.
However, the band started to lose its fame when Joe Perry left the band on July 28, 1979 after having a huge fight in Cleveland, USA. Perry was replaced by new guitarist Jimmy Crespo. In year 1980, Tyler was injured after having a serious motorcycle accident which leads him being hospitalized for two months. In 1981, Brad Whitford left the band right after recording their single “Lightning Strikes”. He was replaced by Rick Dufay which made the tour of the band continue in year 1973.
Tyler becomes active in using drugs which led him collapsing on stage while performing in Springfield, Illinois in 1984. He was convinced to enter a drug rehabilitation program in the year 1986. After he had completed his treatment, the band started to rise again and returned its fame after releasing Permanent Vacation in 1987. It became a platinum success with three hits “Dude (looks Like a Lady)”, “Angel”, and “Drag Roll”.
On August 5, 2009, Tyler was reportedly to fell in the stage in Sturgis, South Dakota while on the “Guitar Hero Aerosmith Tour”. He broke his shoulder and seriously injured in his neck and head. This causes the cancellation of the remaining concerts of Aerosmith in year 2009.
On November 10, 2009, Joe Perry confirmed that Tyler had quit the band to pursue his career as a solo performer. However, there was no definite announcement that Tyler will be replaced. On December 22, 2009, Tyler was reported by the Rolling Stone that the singer was put back in the rehab for pain management.
On January 19, 2011, Tyler was introduced as one of the judges in “American Idol Season 10” with Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson.
