The 63-year-old American actor was born on December 29, 1974 in San Diego, California to Jess Danson and Edward Bridge Danson Jr., an archeologist and a museum director. Danson was raised in Flagstaff, Arizona. In entered the Kent Scholl in year 1969, where he became a basketball star. He showed some passion when it comes to drama while he was still in Stanford University. He then transferred to Carriege Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he earned his degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama in year 1972.
His Tlevision career started where he portrayed a contract player in a daytime soap opera called, Somerset, where he then portrayed the role of Tom Conway from the year of 1975 up to year of 1976. He also appeared in various TV commercials. He was also featured in some TV shows in late 1970’s and 1980’s, which also includes his appearance on the TV shows like Laverne and Shirley B.J. and Bear, Family and in Benson. Danson also appeared in the TV shows of Taxi, Magnum, P.I and in Tucker’s Witch.
Danson was included in the hit sitcom entitled, Cheers, where he portrayed the role of former player of baseball and a bartender named Sam Malone. In addition, the said series was named by the TV Guide as the 18th Greatest Show of All Time. The sitcom was also included in the Time Agazine’s 100 Greatest Shows of All Time. Dansonalso appeared in the TV movie of Something about Amelia. He subsequently starred in the sitcom of CBS entitled, Becker, where he portrayed the lead role of John Becker.
Danson portrayed as himself in the comedy series of Curb your Enthusiasm. He then reprised his role as Sam Malone in the season two of Frasier and also voiced him in one of the episodes of The Simpsons entitled, Fear of Flying. In fall 2006, Ted Danson made his comeback in small screen when he portrayed the role of a psychiatrist in the sitcom of ABC network entitled, Help Me Help You, which was pulled out after having low ratings.
In year 2006, Danson earned a Screen Actors Guild Award for the category of Outsanding Performance by a Male Actor ina TV Movie or Miniseries, for his portrayal in the 2005 TV film called, Knights of the South Bronx. On the following year, he appeared as one of the casts of the drama entitled, Damages, where he portrayed the role of Arthur Frobisher, which also earned him a nomination for the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. In year 2011, Ted Danson was featured in one of the music videos of The Beastie Boys entitled, Make Some Noise. He was also mentioned in the lyrics of the song. In addition, it was recently announced that Danson will be a regular cast on the series of CBS called, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
