Tim Curry is a British actor and singer, who is most notable for the portrayal of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the 1975 film entitled, The Rocky Horror. He was born on April 19, 1946 in Cheshire, to James and Patricia, a Royal Navy chaplain and a school secretary. He was baptized with the real name of Timothy James ‘Tim’ Curry. He entered the Lymm High School until his father died in year 1958. Curry together with his family, relocated to South London but it was said that he entered a boarding school as well as the Kingswood School in Bath. After the decision to give his full time on acting, Curry entered and graduated from the Birmingham University, having the degree of drama and English. On the other hand, the very first fulltime role of Curry was in year 1968 in the London’s musical production entitled, Hair, where he met Richard O’Brien. O’Brien was the one who rite on the nest role of Curry, which is in the 1975 film of The Rocky Horror Show.
After the end of The Rocky Show, Curry made his return on Broadway with one of the stage productions of Tom Stoppard entitled, Travesties, which was ran from year 1975 until 1976 in New York. His portrayal for the role of Tristan Tzara however earned fine reviews from the critics. He then portrayed the titled role of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the Broadway show, which he formed, called, Amadeus. The show earned him a nomination for Tony Award in the category for the Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play. In year 1989, Curry portrayed the role of Pirated King in the Joe Papp’s rendition of The Pirates of Penzance, alongside George Cole. His portrayal on the show also earned him good reviews. On the other hand, Curry appeared in the 1980 film called, Times Square, where he portrayed the role of Johnny LaGuardia, together with the stars of Trini Alvarado and Robin Johnson. Amid of year 1980s, Curry has appeared in various plays together with the Royal National Theatre o Great Britain, which also includes the production of The Threepenny Opera and the Daliance as well as Love For Love.
Moreover, Curry also appeared in several films like the 1990 thriller called, The Hunt for Red October, where he portrayed the role of Dr. Yevgeniy Petrov, together with the stars of Alec Baldwin and Sean Connery as well as Scott Glenn. On the following year, Curry portrayed the role of Dr. Thornton in the comedy film of Oscar, which starred Sylvester Stallone and Omella Muti as well as Marisa Tomei. He was also included in the casts of the 1992 film of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. In year 1995, Curry appeared in the action film called, Congo, where he portrayed the role of Herkermer Komolka, alongside laura Linney and Dylan Walsh. In year 1997, Curry lent his voice for the role of Forte in the animated film called, beauty and the Beast: The enchanted Christmas. He then appeared in the 2000 action comedy film entitled, Charlie’s Angels, where he portrayed the role of Roger Carwin together with Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore. On the same year, he appeared in another two films, Four Dogs Playing Poker and Lion of Oz.
In year 2001, he starred in the musical version of A Christmas Carol, which was held in Royal National Theatre of Great Britain. Also, in year 2001, Curry appeared a Professor Oldman in the film called, Scary Movie 2. In year 2004, he appeared in the TV series called, Monk, where he portrayed the role of Dale Biederbeck in their episode titled, Mr. Moonk Goes to Jail. He also appeared as Thurman Finster in the film of Kinsey. On the following year, he portrayed the role of Caspar Pennington in the film entitled, Bailey’s Billion$. Curry was also included in the ensemble of the 2008 film of Agatha Christie Poirot: Appointment with Death, where he portrayed the role of Lord Greville Boynton. On the following year, he appeared as Dodo in the miniseries called, Alice. In year 2010, Curry also portrayed the role of Signoir Brunoni in the TV series of Return to Cranford. On the same year, he appeared in the TV series of Criminl Minds, where he portrayed the role of Billy Flynn.
