The 33-year-old English actor was born on September 15, 1977 in Hammersmith, to Elizabeth Anne and Edward Hard, a painter of Irish Catholic descent and an advertisement and comedy writer. Hardy is an only child studied in two private schools, the Reed’s School and the Tower House School. He then entered the Richmond Drama School as well in the Drama Centre London. He started his professional work in war dramas, where he won the part of the United States Army Private John Janovec in the award winning miniseries of the HBO and BBC called Band of Brothers. He debuted in the 2001 thriller of Ridley Scott called Black Hawk Down.
In year 2002, he made and appearance in the independent film called, Dot the i. He then go to the North Africa for the Simon: An English legionnaire, which is a tale about the French Foreign Legion. On the same year he received some biggest international appearance as the Reman Praetor Shinzon in the science fiction film of Star Trek Nemesis. He returned to England to appear in the 2003 thriller film called, LD 50 Lethal Dose.
On the other hand, Tom Hardy received an award in the 2003 London Evening Standard Theatre Award for the category of Outstanding Newcomer for his portrayal in Blood as well in the film called, In Arabia, We’d All Be Kings, which has performed in the Royal Court Theatre and in Hampstead Theatre. He also earned a nomination for the 2004 Laurence Olivier Award for the category of the Most Promising Newcomer for his performance in the production of In Arabia, We’d All Be Kings.
In year 2005, Hardy also appeared in the 2005 BBC small series called The Virgin Queen, where he portrayed the role of Robert Dudley, who is a childhood companion of Elizabeth I. he was also appeared in the adaptation of the science fiction film called, A for Andromeda, on the TV network called BBC Four. In year 2007, he also appeared in the drama called, Stuart: A Life Backwards, which is originally based on a true story, where he portrayed the lead role of Stuart Shorter. On the following year, he starred in the directorial film of Guy Ritchie in the film called, RocknRolla, where he portrayed the role of the gay gangster Handsome Bob.
In year 2009, Hardy starred in the film entitled, Bronson, which is about the true to life prisoner Charles Bronson. On the following year, he starred in The Long Red Road at the Goodman Theater in Chicago. In June 2010 it was announced that Hardy is set to portray the lead role of the version of the action film called, Mad Max. On the other hand, Hardy replaced Michael Fassbender in the 2012 film adaptation of the Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, which also starred Gary Oldman and Ralph Fiennes. He is also set to portray the role of a bootlegger in the upcoming film of John Hillcoat entitled, The Wettest County in the World. Also, he will be portraying the role of Bane in the upcoming film of The Dark Knight Rises.
