Tom Hiddleston, 30, is an English actor, who was born on February 9, 1981 in Westminster, London, to Diana Patricia and James Norman Hiddleston, a former stage manager and a scientist in physical chemistry. His mother is from Suffolk, England while his father was from Greenock, Scotland. Hiddleston attended two different independent schools, the first one on The Dragon School in Oxford and the Eton College in Eton in Berkshire, where he lived in Dumford House. In addition, Hiddleston read Classics at the Pembroke College, Cambridge. He then entered the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where he graduated in year 2005.
In the second term of Hiddleston at Cambridge, eh was featured in a production of A Streetcar Named Desire by Lorraine Hamilton of the agency of Hamilton Hodell and after that, he was given his first TV role in Stephen Whittaker’s adaptation of Nicholas Nickleby for iTV, which also starred Charles Dance, James D’Arcy and Sophia Myles. While Hiddleston was still in the University, he appeared in the 2001 film of Conspiracy and portrayed the role of Randolph Churchill in the Award-winning show of The Gathering Storm, which also includes the stars of Albert Finney a d Vanessa Redgrave.
On graduating from the Royal Academy of the Dramatic Art, Hiddleston earned his first film role as Oakley in the award winning feature film of Unrelated, which was filmed in Tuscany, Italy, and is set to portray the lead role of Edward in the recently completed second film of Archipelago. Hiddleston has also had leading roles in the Declan Donnellan’s company Cheek by Jowl’s productions called, The Challenging, where he portrayed the role of Alsemero. The role earned her an Ian Charleson Awards 2007 Nomination as well in Cymbeline, where he also won the Laurence Oliver Award for the category for the Best Newcomer in year 2008.
Hiddleston Donmar Warehouse credits includes Cassio in Michael Grandage’s production of Shakespeare’s Othello, together with Chiwetel Ejiofor as well as Ewan McGregor to much critical acclaim and the Lvov in their West End version of the Chekhov’s Ivanov. Hiddleston portrayed the role of Loki in the 2011 superhero film of Thor, which starred Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman. The film was directed by Kenneth Branagh, which he teamed up with on Ivanov and Wallander.
