Woody Harrelson sin an American actor who was born on July 23, 1961 in Midland Texas to Diane Lou and Charles Voyde Harrelson, who got divorced in year 1964. Woody Harrelson, who grew up in Lebanon Ohio, was baptized with the real name of Woodrick Tracy ‘Woody’ Harrelson. He entered the Lebanon High School and also worked at the Kings Island Amusement park. He soon entered the Hanover College in the Hanover, Indiana, where turned to be one of the members of the Sigma Chi fraternity. In 1983, he accepted his bachelor of arts in theater arts as well in English.
Woody Harrelson was famously known for his portrayal in the NBC sitcom called, Cheers, where he portrayed the role of Woody Boyd, who replaced the role portrayed by Nicholas Colasanto, who passed away on the show’s season three. He then joined the fourth season of the series and lasted until the eight seasons. The series show garnered him a nomination for the five Emmy Awards.
In year 1991, Harrelson appeared in the spin-off of the series of Cheers entitled, Frasier, where he reprised his role as Woody Boyd. He was also nominated for an Emmy Award for the category of Outstanding Guest Actor in a comedy series. He also appeared in some of the episodes of the American TV sitcom called, Will and Grace, where he portrayed the role of the new boyfriend of Grace.
On June 2010, Harrelson became part of the Soccer Aid 2010 for the UNICEF UK at the Old Trafford in Manchester, UK. The game was aired live on the UK’s ITV screen. After serving as the substitute for the Gordon Ramsay, he then got the last penalty in the penalty shootout. He then scored to win the said game for The Rest of the World.
While Harrelson was still in the sitcom of Cheers, he still continued his film career and his very first film was the 986 film of Wildcats, which also starred Goldie Hawn. He was also included in the casts of the film called, Welcome to Sarajevo, in year 1997 and in the film of Wag the Dog. On the following year, he also starred in the thriller film of Palmetto. He also appeared in the film of The Thin Red Line, where he portrayed the role of Sergeant Schumann. After he appeared in the film of Play it to the Bone, Harrelson did not appear in screen until the year of 2003, when he was included in the casts of the comedy film of. Anger Management and then in the film of After the Sunset and in the film of She Hate. After that, Harrelson continued to appear in several films such as the film of No Country for Old Men and in the comedy film of Semi-Pro and in the film of Zombieland. On the other hand, he is set to reprise his role in the upcoming sequel film in the Roland Emmerich’s 2012.
